To be empowered by God
The Church Fellowship Worship Ministries (TCF) was founded August 28, 1997, as a mission with Thursday night Bible Study. There were seven (7) people in attendance as they gathered in the library of Highlands Middle School. On December 28, 1997, Reverend Bruce V. Allen was installed as Pastor and The Church Fellowship Worship Ministries, Inc. was sanctioned. When the first Sunday Service was held on January 4, 1998, fifty-five (55) people joined the ministry. This would be the beginning of many great things that the Lord would do through this budding ministry. The first year brought many new challenges and great opportunities. The church rented office space at 2914 Leonid Road in order to meet the administrative demands of the ministry. God gave further evidence that He ordained this ministry when within the first year of existence TCF was blessed to purchase thirty-five (35) acres of land without the assistance of conventional financing. In early spring of 1999, the church was informed by the school that they would no longer be able to stay there as a meeting place. After much prayer and searching, TCF located property to lease as a temporary home on Lem Turner Road. Little did TCF know that God would open up a door for the church to own that property also.
As the congregation continued to flourish so did the level of ministry facilitated by The Church Fellowship. Shortly after moving into the Lem Turner building, TCF began to move forward with its plans to open a child care facility. Little Fishers Child Development Center became a reality in August, 1999 with an enrollment of seven (7) precious children. The vision continued to unfold with the opening of Fishers Creek Christian Bookstore in 2001 to serve the community with Christian books, Bibles, gifts, etc.
TCF’s most recent endeavor has been the purchase and renovation of a new worship facility. The first service was held on August 6, 2006. Formerly a Scotty’s warehouse, the renovation has been a major undertaking. Moreover, the church’s commitment to revitalizing the community by removing blight has enabled them to take an “eyesore” of a building and make it an “icon” for God’s glory. Once all renovation is complete the church building will be nearly 60,000 square feet and will house a sanctuary, banquet facilities, administration offices, gym, studios, fitness area and much more. The Church Fellowship Worship Ministries is continuing in the work that God has ordained for them to do. If you are seeking an exciting fellowship and would like to be a part of an unfolding miracle in progress, you are invited to come and see for yourself all that God is doing.
